Comparison of Airtraq™ video-laryngoscope and Macintosh laryngoscope for tracheal intubation in adults—a randomised study

Abstract Background Airway management by intubation is considered a major responsibility and vital skill for anaesthesiologists. Direct laryngoscopy endotracheal under vision continues to be the gold standard airway management. Though conventional done with Macintosh blade, it has its own drawbacks. The Airtraq™ tube/guide channelled video-laryngoscope can used in patients normal as well difficult airway. On literature review, studies comparing time laryngoscopes have shown heterogeneous results. Therefore, present study was designed compare laryngoscope tracheal adults.
